Here are the biographies for the accepted characters.

Name: Mary Duncan
Age: age 15
Appearance: brown hair, green eyes, not very pretty,
Personality-Can't stand to see others in pain: cultural cutter (taught by her dad) but no one here knows about it at first, very eager to please, desperate for affection and approval, socially awkward, hard to make friends and carry on a conversation
History- Daddy’s girl, mom’s very distant and doesn’t seem to like her much...(Mary's biological dad raped her mom.) Seeking the approval and affection she’s never received from her mom, she spends most of her time baby sitting the neighbours kids-girl-3, boy-5, girl 8. and finds herself a little too close to them. Parents come home one night and she’s in bed with the older girl b/c of a nightmare. She’s been talking to a school counsellor about this and asking for help. The counsellor suggests she spend some time at Horizon and mom’s glad to get rid of her and can afford it. Her sister died when Mary was eight.
Admitted because: Knows she needs help- shoplifts to get presents for the neighbour kids, makes plan to kidnap the kids or force the parents to have an accident so she can adopt them.

Tommi Henderson
age 14

History- major tomboy, refuses to wear a dress/skirt, anything pink, or hair ribbons etc. No interest in skating, dance, etc. Much rather be out working the farm, hunting, or fishing with her military father then anything indoors. (she was raped as a preschooler, so is subconsciously trying to distance herself from anything female.) Does well in school but doesn't enjoy it. She’s gotten involved with a group of older guys at school, who are bullies, druggies and suspected of ‘gang activities’. Her parents catch her sneaking in one night after meeting some of those ‘friends, and decide she needs to get away from them.

Admitted for:vandalism, suspected gang involvement, attitude issues

personality: very caring and compassionate but can be tough when she needs to. If any of her students relapse during the program she takes it personally. Dedicated to seeing all of her students graduate the program, whatever it takes. Always looking for unique answers to individual situations.
